Dear Parents/Guardians, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Our students have already lost out on many of the special elementary memories during the pandemic, and we would like to try and offer something where everyone can participate and feel safe. Here is some information on how we are going to run things for Valentine’s Day this year. Classroom parties should serve store bought items only. Parties will be scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 11. Students can make a Valentine’s day box at home and bring it in anytime before the party. If they don’t want to create a box, they don’t have to. Students should bring their Valentines in one week in advance of their party - Thursday, February 4th. All Valentines need to be sealed in a plastic Ziploc bag. Your child’s teacher will be sending home more detailed information about the Valentine’s Day celebration. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you- Mr. Franzwa

Good Morning Parents of Mondovi Elementary Students, I hope that you all had a safe and happy holiday season. Next Monday, January 11 students will be returning to face to face instruction. They have been virtual since early-mid November (depending on the grade), and we are really excited for them to return! If you would like to bring some of their virtual learning materials back early, we will have a return drop off this Friday, January 8 from noon until 4:00 PM. The entrances will be staffed and we are asking that you please have their items bagged up and labeled with their name, grade, and teacher. 4K and 5K families can bring items back to door 28. These are the doors at the end of their hallway that face the tennis courts. 1st and 2nd grade can return their items to door 29, the main elementary entrance located next to the office on Mill Street. 3rd-5th grade can return their items to door 31, the entrance at the end of their hallway and to the east of the main entrance on Mill Street. If you can’t make that day work to return some of their items, it is OK. We just thought that it might help to lighten the load for students when they return on the 11th. Thank you and we look forward to seeing the students again next Monday! Paul Franzwa

Please remember to let the Elementary School Office know by the end of the day on Monday, January 4 if you are planning for your child to continue with virtual education when we return on the 11th.

We are beginning to plan for our return to face to face instruction which will now be Monday, January 11. One thing that will be different since the last time we were face to face is that we will now have our students attend their specials (art, music, PE, and IMC) in the specialist classrooms. Please know that we will continue to take several measures to ensure that your child will be safe here at school. We would like to know which students are planning to continue with virtual learning once we return. Once your decision is made about continuing with virtual or coming back for face to face instruction, we are asking that you stick with it and avoid making a change. Please contact the elementary office by the end of the day on Monday, January 4 if you plan to continue with virtual instruction on January 11. Paul Franzwa (email) pfranzwa@mondovi.k12.wi.us Leah Bursaw (email) lbursaw@mondovi.k12.wi.us or by phone: 715-926-3645 You do not need to contact us if you are planning to return for face to face. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Paul Franzwa

Just a reminder that next Tuesday, December 22 is our next pick up/drop off for virtual material in the elementary. It will take place from noon until 4:00 PM. All work that has been completed from any of the prior pick ups should be returned at that time. We will be using the same locations that we have used in the past (see below). Please make sure that you (and anyone else that is with you) wear a mask, and respectfully distance from families that may be in line near you. Here are the locations for each grade level: The EC/4K pick up location will be at door number 28. These are the doors at the end of their hallway that face the tennis courts. The 5K pick up location will be at door number 29. This is the main entrance into the elementary and is located right next to the office on Mill Street. The 1st grade pick up location will be at door number 27. These are the doors that the students use to go in and out for recess. Parents will have to park in the new bus drive, walk through a gate, and then walk across the blacktop area of our playground to get to this door. The 2nd grade pick up location will be at door number 26. This is the door located at the end of their hallway. Parents should drive back between the pool and the elementary playground, park alongside the fence boarding the playground, and walk up to door number 26. The 3rd grade pick up location will be at door number 24. Third grade parents should drive back between the pool and the elementary playground and head towards the greenhouse. You should see door number 24 on your right. Find an area to park your vehicle and walk up to door number 24. The 4th grade pick up location will be at door number 31. This is the entrance at the end of their hallway located on Mill Street. The 5th grade pick up location will be at door number 33. This is the entrance between the new loading dock and new art room. Parents, please park your vehicle alongside the cafeteria on Mill Street and walk up to that door.
